In September 2017, I was hired to work in Guest Services at Pittsburgh's premiere concert venue, Stage AE. The venue boasts an impressive set-up, with the main stage offering both indoor and outdoor shows, indoor holding around 2k, outdoor holding over 5k concert goers, as well as a club stage inside, holding 500. The venue also holds special events throughout all seasons and even has a classroom inside as part of Point Park University's Sports, Arts and Entertainment Management program.
Guest Services duties include but are not limited to:
Assisting with event preparation and shut-down
Scanning tickets and monitoring doors during the show
Aiding guests with disabilities in designated ADA areas
Maintaining VIP areas
Answering customer questions about the venue and events
In October 2017, I also began working in the venue's Box Office. Box Office duties include but are not limited to:
Handling cash and credit card transactions
Using Ticketmaster software to record sales and print tickets
Answer phones, respond appropriately and positively to customer questions and transfer calls to other parties when necessary
Printing will call, guest list and radio list tickets for pick-up at the venue
